Support for Guardians

  • Parent University

    A free three-day program offered throughout the year by the Boston Public Schools Office of Family and Student Engagement to help adults acquire skills to support students and become effective mentors and advocates.

Government Benefits

  • Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA)

    Assists low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, increase their incomes, and improve their quality of life. Services include food assistance, job assistance, cash assistance, domestic violence assistance, and emergency shelter.

  • Grantee Relative Benefits are available to anyone who assumes guardianship of a relative or grandchild. Application is through the DTA above.
